There’s a lot to love about Baltic!

  • Baltic is just a few minutes from Sioux Falls and sits just a couple miles from I-29 and a mile off Highway 115, so it’s easy to get anywhere from Baltic

  • Baltic is a safe, small town with a lot of great people and community spirit

  • Compared to other towns in the area, Baltic’s property tax rates have traditionally been lower

  • The Baltic Library is an extension of the Siouxland Library System. This allows you to experience the benefits of a larger library network without having to leave town.

  • If you need quality daycare there are lots of options including Lil Tot Stop, The Playhouse Childcare Center, and more

  • There are many parks, a community fitness center, and ample summer programs including T-ball, baseball, and softball.

The Baltic School District is one of the top schools in the state, providing education from Pre-K through K-12. The school has a vast amount of class offerings for students on campus, as well as learning agreements in place so high school students can take online classes for college credits and in-person classes at the Sioux Falls Career and Technical Education Academy.

The class sizes in Baltic are significantly smaller compared to many other suburbs in the Sioux Falls area. The 2023 K-12 fall enrollment numbers are below, provided by the South Dakota Department of Education.

  • Baltic: 548
  • Tri-Valley (Crooks, Colton, Lyons): 932
  • Dell Rapids: 973
  • West Central (Humboldt, Hartford): 1409
  • Tea Area: 2408
  • Brandon Valley: 4957
  • Harrisburg: 6061
